Name of Assignment: Trigonometry Project
Subject: Geometry
Facilitator/Teacher: Ms. Marsh
For this project, we had to create a 5-paneled comic with three trigonometry examples in it.
Which 21st Century Skill do you feel this assignment addresses, and why?
This project addressed my civic literacy and engagement skills, because I demonstrated how trigonometry could be used in everyday life. I also used information and communication skills to research and relay information.
What are you most proud of from this assignment, and why?
I am most proud of fitting three triangles and their equations into the story. It was harder than fitting two chemical or physical changes into the Chemistry comic.
How did you develop and/or improve upon your 21st Century Skill with this assignment?
I think that I developed my civic literacy and engagement skills because I doubted that I would ever use trigonometry out of school. Even if my comic was silly, it still gave me an idea of how I could use the skill, with building and such.
What was most difficult about completing this task?
The most difficult part of completing this task was having patience and trusting that it would be finished soon if I kept working on it.
How could you improve this work? If you could start over, what would you do differently?
If I redid the project, I would format the comic to fit a title in the front, because I ended up having to put it on the back.
How does this relate to what you have learned in the past?
Trigonometry is new to me, but it is similar to algebra and geometry, two subjects that I enjoy.
How can you apply this to future learning?
I can apply sine, cosine, and tangent in everyday tasks, such as measuring the amount of rope needed to hold something, or deciding how tall a ladder needs to be to reach the roof.

Name of Assignment: Logical Chain Story
Subject: Geometry
Facilitator/Teacher: Ms. Marsh
Description of Work/Assignment: The assignment for this class was to write a series of logical statements to form a story.
Which 21st Century Skill do you feel this assignment addresses, and why?
I mostly used thinking and problem solving skills for this project, because I was able to come up with a logical chain of statements. Communication skills were also important, because I communicated the story. I also referenced many parts of history, which falls under global awareness.
What are you most proud of from this assignment, and why?
I am proud of how efficient the process was. I spent 15 minutes on the story and 20 minutes on the drawing, and was able to turn it in days early. I'm also glad I came up with time-travel as a plot, I think that was creative.
How did you develop and/or improve upon your 21st Century Skill with this assignment?
I think my communications developed a lot because I was able to write a story that is understandable and fit the assignment.
What was most difficult about completing this task?
The most difficult part about completing this task was getting the writing to flow, it wasn't required that we put it in a poem form but I thought it would make it lighter and funnier. It still isn't perfect, and I think I would have to recreate the rhythm to get it to the point I wanted.
How could you improve this work? If you could start over, what would you do differently?
If I could improve this work I would put more effort into the drawing, because I could have made it look a lot better with some shading, I just didn't want to go too overboard.
How does this relate to what you have learned in the past?
This project relates to what our geometry class has been learning for the last couple of months- inductive reasoning. This includes compounds and conditional statements, such as inverses or disjunctions.
How can you apply this to future learning?
I can apply this assignment to future learning if I want to pursue geometry, in college or as a job.
